ASMR-tists to help you relax

ASMR is a tool I have discovered in the last 6 months or so, and it’s something I am truly glad to have stumbled upon. Nothing else makes me feel as relaxed as ASMR does, and today I have decided to share with you my favourite ASMR-tists who help me achieve this relaxation.

I discovered ASMR by complete accident. I’d looked up a few self-massage techniques and discovered that watching massage videos actually made my body feel as though I was getting the massage myself. That’s what ASMR is all about, producing the tingling sensation in your body without even being touched.

As someone who loves having their hair played with, or back traced, it was amazing for me to discover out of the blue that this was a feeling I could conjure up on my own. Now I watch videos almost every night before bed, and am always looking for new people to follow or new ASMR triggers to help me relax.

If you haven’t tried ASMR yet I strongly recommend it. It’s not for everyone, but if it is for you, you’ll wonder how you ever lived your life without it.

Without further ado, I give you my favourite ASMR-tists who help me to relax on a daily basis.

Gentle Whispering ASMR

Dubbed the Queen of ASMR, Gentle Whispering is probably my all time favourite channel. Maria is amazing at what she does, and while she provides a variety of different types of videos she does create many of my favourite kind: role play.

I’d never realised before I disovered Gentle Whispeing, but I actually love being examined. Be it at the doctors or the opticians, even the dentist (until they start using their weird tools). The reason being is that it produces those same sensations.

Maria creates so many videos where she is the examiner, giving treatment and assessing your skin, face, eyes, mouth and head. And I adore them. I can’t explain why, but just watching someone even pretend to stroke my face is enough to help me truly relax.

She also does so in so many creative ways, each video is different. She’s been a hair dresser, a doctor, dentist, optician, spa worker, she’s even prepared me for a trip to Mars once.

If you’re new to ASMR I definitely recommend you to check out this channel. It’s definitely a great example of what ASMR is really about.

Itsblitzzz

Itsblitzzz actually started out as a vlogger on Youtube, before adding videos of her massages to her channel. She isn’t just an ASMR-tist, but she also publishes videos about her life and her lifestyle. She’s a truly unique and beautiful individual and I’ve learned a lot from her – so there’s a lot to gain from her channel.

In terms of ASMR though her videos are a mixture of watching her give massages to others, and role play. I have watched A LOT of massage videos, but hers are just the absolute best.

Her hand movements are just so elegant and flowing, I just get mesmerized by them. And she has a way of mixing massage, hair play, and tracing all into one. It’s definitely something that needs to be experienced.

Creative Calm ASMR

Creative Calm is one of my most recent discoveries, but one that I love for her favour of role play videos. She is very good as what she does, and I enjoy her ASMR style.

I haven’t been a massive fan of British ASMR-tists, due to personal preference (I am British myself, but for some reason I don’t like the accent in ASMR videos – it’s strange). But I do enjoy the videos Lucy creates for Creative Calm.

Again she creates mostly role play videos, which I really enjoy. She is also great at making you feel safe and relaxed. I love her spa videos, and use of different back drops to really sell the illusion. She is gentle, and calm, and just relaxing. Truly a treat for the senses.

Psychetruth ASMR

I couldn’t write this post without giving a shout out to the very first ASMR channel I discovered. Psychetruth is a MASSIVE massage and healthy living channel, and the ASMR branch of this is pretty huge too.

Their videos span far and wide, with hair brushing, tapping, use of different props (some very weird and wonderful), back tracing, brushing, audio triggers, and so many more triggers. There’s something on this channel for everyone.

It’s a great channel to follow, and I always try and check out their newest videos.

Which ASMR-tist is for you?

These are my top four favourite ASMR-tists to watch when I need to relax, but as I’ve mentioned it is a very personal experience. Everyone has different triggers. Everyone has different needs.

So, if none of these are really for you then never fear. There are so many other channels out there for you to discover. You just need to do some searching.
