My Last 5 Years in a Nutshell
Welcome back to my blog, after what was a much longer hiatus than I intended – 5 years to be exact. First of all let me address the elephant in the room: I am very aware that my last post was all about my blogging hiatus, why I took a break and how I hope to come back. That post was written in 2022 and I haven’t touched this blog since, oh the irony. So, instead of writing more on what you already know, why I took a break and how I hope to come back, I thought I’d do something different and talk about what has happened in my…

Guest Post: How to cope with freelancer isolation
This weeks guest post is from Ashutosh from Refrens.com discussing an issue I think a lot of us have faced recently after being thrown into working from home. Freelancer isolation can affect all of us, and I hope you enjoy reading Ashutosh’s take on it as much as I did. On embarking their journey as a freelancer, one begins with a sense of being authorized and engaged. With earning the privilege of being their own boss, they are relieved from the pressure of performance evaluation. One of the main perks of being a freelancer is having the liberty to select whom they want to work with and getting the flexibility…

A day in the life of anxiety
Before I get into this I feel I should give a slight trigger warning. If you’re anything like me, reading about anxiety triggers can actually trigger your own anxiety. While I don’t discuss anything particularly bad in this post I do advise to proceed with caution if that does apply to you! Right, let’s get to it then… You open your eyelids to a haze of what now’s and what ifs. Your stomach sinking further and further into the mattress, clawing and clinging, yearning to just go back to sleep. Have you ever experienced something that intense and immovable? It’s what every day can be like when you have anxiety.…

My Journey to Fitness: Part 4
It’s been about a month since my last update to you, apologies for the delay. If you’ve not kept up with my fitness journey so far feel free to catch up here. After spending the first month or so writing bi-weekly health and fitness updates I kind of didn’t see the point in updating you so often, especially as nothing was changing. I really didn’t want you all to be reading the same post over an over again, that would just be insanely boring. In addition, I’ve also been feeling super low about my body because nothing has really changed. My weight keeps going up, and I am just so…

February Round Up
Well, February is nearly over, and I have another month of serious blogging under my belt. I don’t really know where to start with this month’s round-up so I’ll break it down, first talking about my personal accomplishments, before I move onto my blog. This post does contain affiliate links. This means that if you use the link to purchase something, I will receive a percentage, at no extra cost to you. Personal Life Work If you’ve read my January round-up you’ll know that I spent the last three weeks of the month signed off work, and I spent that time writing and improving my mental health. I started this…

January Round-Up
January has been such a crazy month, I barely know where to begin! Let’s start with the not so great bits. It has been a roller coaster month for me. I struggled to get myself back on track at work following the Christmas break and started to feel like I was drowning. My to-do list built up every day, but I didn’t have enough time to get everything done. My exhaustion hit a new peak and my body just gave up. Unfortunately this has resulted in me being signed off work, which I have been for the last three weeks. In all honesty I had no idea what I was…

Down but not out – chronic illness setbacks
When you have a set back with an illness, it’s so easy to feel like it’s the end of the world, like you’ve failed, like there’s no point in you trying. But it’s very important to try not to feel that way. I know, easier said than done right? Well, this last week hasn’t been amazing for me. I was very unwell at the beginning of last week and needed some time off work – yes I’ve already had a set back for my new years goal. A couple of days turned into a week. A week turned into me dragging myself to the doctors to be signed off for…

Old Before My Time
I’m 27, and while to me that does feel old I do know that I have my whole life ahead of me and I am still young. I’m still in my twenties. I may not be 18 or 21 anymore, but your twenties are about being young and figuring out what you want to do. It’s about having fun. Unfortunately being 27 doesn’t really stop the symptoms of CFS/ME. I definitely don’t feel 27 most of the time. No time to read now? Pin it for later! Life when you feel old before your time. I don’t feel 27 I don’t feel 27 when I have to go to bed…
